Following the sell-out success of “FIRST LIGHT”, our Client entered an arrangement with the owners of the adjoining site to develop their property.
Burdened with a design that was rejected by Council, LDS redesigned the building to create a high quality development suited to the premium site overlooking the ocean foreshore.
The curved elements draw reference from the art deco styling of the beach pavilions that were popular along the east coast of Australia early last century. The raking side walls are a nod to the post war atomic modernist styling that characterised many of the beach shacks built in the 50’s and 60’s.
